In the 1950s racing in Toledo was staged at Raceway Park when a programme of predominantly harness racing was the standard offering. However, that venue was replaced in 2014 by Dayton Raceway, a 5 furlong oval track, with a 201 metre home straight, which boasts a grandstand with the capacity to hold over 1000 people. The principal harness races in the old days were the Buckeye-Wolverine Pace and the Ohio Sire Stakes, and now the Dayton Pacing Derby. The track remains a popular race venue and racino.
